San Diego County has joined the long list of plaintiffs suing San Diego Gas & Electric Co. and Cox Communications for damages caused by three of last year's wildfires, it was reported Thursday.

The county's suit, filed Wednesday, does not specify how much money the county is seeking, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

"We're still calculating and still trying to capture all of the possible recoverable damages," county Chief Deputy Counsel Deborah McCarthy told the newspaper.

Damages may include loss of property tax revenue resulting from damage to and destruction of private property; loss of wildlife habitat; debris removal; and destruction of public buildings.
